WISeKey to highlight “INes” a full-fledged PKI-as-a-service solution supporting the MATTER standard, at the next SIDO Paris 2022 IoT show

GENEVA – November 82022: WISeKey International Holding Ltd. (“WISeKey”) (SIX: WIHN, NASDAQ: WKEY), a global leader in cybersecurity and IoT, announced that it will attend SIDO Paris 2022 from November 08-09 to showcase its product portfolio and end security solutions including PKI-as-a-service, digital identity provisioning and semiconductors.

Security by design and IoT identity provisioning will be top topics at this year’s venue for Europe’s renowned event dedicated to IoT convergence, artificial intelligence and robotics.

IoT industry standards (such as Wi-SUN, Matter and others) aim to change the future of IoT device interoperability and security and increase user confidence. To enable secure authentication and prevent counterfeiting, OEMs and manufacturers need to add certificates to their IoT devices and security chips on the assembly line.

With Matter Standard, device manufacturers need to start preparing their devices to be “Matter-trusted” and have the Matter logo on them. PKI will be a cornerstone in the process of becoming “Mater-trusted”.

WISeKey leverages its long experience as a trusted public certificate authority (CA) and WebTrust accreditation to support various trust models and provide relevant CA hierarchy for IoT manufacturers and IoT solution providers . Manufacturers using PKI for IoT security need to become more rigorous about certificate policy adoption, which governs trust and assurance levels. Achieving full compliance would significantly improve security audit results and establish full trust throughout the IoT supply chain. WISeKey is thus committed to CSA (https://csa-iot.org/) to become an accredited CA for Matter protocol.

Given the scale required of PKI for the IoT, one of the best options for maintaining high service levels and security without losing efficiency is to rely on a SaaS model that offers PKI-as-a -Service. Additionally, using PKI through a managed service model eases the burden on manufacturers to properly maintain the system with respect to functionality, performance, and security assurance levels.

WISeKey KPI for IoT the solution, INesMT, provides great flexibility at OEM and IoT devices makers who needs probleme and managee certificates, at any ladder and at any stage of the design and manufacturing processsaid Gweltas Radenac, Director of the IoT & PKI Business Unit at Wisekey.
