Eye-care brand Waldo has launched its new Hydra Boost Plus daily contact lenses in the United States, which are infused with a saline vitamin B12 solution to target dry eye symptoms, the company announced in a press release. .

Hydra Boost Plus lenses benefit from the addition of cyanocobalamin, a manufactured version of vitamin B12, which helps reduce inflammation and eye fatigue, as well as promote corneal healing. According to the press release, the lenses provide twice the comfort and 30% more hydration by promoting increased tear volume and stability.

Like Waldo’s Hydra Boost lenses, the new lenses are made from etafilcon, with a high water content of 58%, and are rated Class 2 to block 83% of UVA rays and 97% of UVB rays. The lenses mimic corneal shape and include tapered, smooth edges that allow for low foreign body sensation while blinking, the company said.

“We have worked hard to bring these lenses to market this summer, delivering a unique product through the inclusion of vitamin B12,” said Waldo’s founder and CEO. Ashleigh Hinde said in the press release. “We have continued to prioritize innovation while staying true to our brand mission of making eye care accessible and we are proud to be able to offer our customers this kind of innovation while maintaining our lower price point. “
